Further details

10. Christopher (d1692) and Jane (1637-1725) of Greysouthen

Christopher WILSON was likely born before the middle of the 1600s and lived at Greysouthen in the parish of Brigham in Cumberland. In 1667 he married Jane ALLASON (aged about 30, of Whinfell Hall) at Richard Faucett's house, Hall Bank, Eaglesfield - they therefore seem to have been Quakers in the early days of that Society.

They had 5 children:
John 1667
Ann 1669-1755
Sarah 1671
Peter 1672/73
Elizabeth 1676-1704

Christopher died in 1692 but Jane survived him until 1725. By that time the youngest daughter Elizabeth had also died, in her late 20s. Ann lived until 1755. For John see below.

9. John (1667-1746) and Ann (1673-1743) of Greythwaite

John WILSON lived at Greythwaite near Mosser, which I think is also in the parish of Brigham. In 1693, aged 26, he married Ann STEEL (aged about 20, also from Greythwaite). They had several children:
Sarah 1694/95-1733
Deborah 1698-1729
John 1701-87 see below
Christopher 1704-61
Rebecca 1704-68 see below
Jonathan 1710-82
Thomas 1713/14-1799
Ann 1716
Elizabeth 1719

The two oldest girls died within the lifetimes of their parents - Deborah by 1729, aged no more than about 30, and Sarah in 1733, in her late 30s. The parents died in the 1740s - Ann aged 70 in 1743 and John aged nearly 80 in 1746. John junior and Rebecca both appear to be ancestral in different lines that converged again with a marriage between third cousins in Allonby on the Cumberland coast in 1838. John and Rebecca are both detailed below.

8a. John (1701-87)

John married Sarah WALKER, daughter of Joseph and Mary Walker from Dean Mains in the adjacent parish (no page yet) and they lived at Whinfell Hall in the parish of Brigham. They had children:
Deborah 17 May 1735 see below
John 2 February 1736/7
Mary 22 January 1738/9

John the father died in 1787

8b. Rebecca (1707-1768)

Rebecca WILSON married Jonathan WILLIAMSON in 1735. She was aged 28, he 35. He was from Allonby on the west Cumberland coast. For her married life, see his page.

7. Deborah (1735-1811)

Deborah married John ROBINSON at Pardshaw Hall in 1770. For her married life and widowhood see the Robinson page.
